Filtering info on the internet
People filter and curate information on the internet based on what interests them. Websites such as Pinterest, allow users to filter their search based on what they are trying to find. For example, Pinterest offers different categories for users to search within. Some examples of categories are fashion, food & drink or sports. People use filters to categorize information. Different categories provide different information. Tags provide users to easily find what they are looking for. This also allows other users to search within that tag as well. On Pinterest, boards provide different categories for users to add their favorite things to. Creating a board labeled My favorite foods will allow the user to pin different types of foods they like to that category. Other users can search within these boards and pin the other users photos to their own board as well. Every website is different, providing and allowing different rules for filtering information found on that particular website.
